Skyharbour Resources Ltd. (TSX-V:SYH) (OTCQB:SYHBF) (“Skyharbour”) is pleased to report that the fall 2020 first-ever drill program on its wholly-owned Russell Lake uranium-vanadium project in northern Saskatchewan has reached completion, with preliminary in-house logging and sampling of the core completed. Assay and radon gas detection results are anticipated to be released by the end of December 2020 or early January 2021.
Uranium mineralization was visually identified in several of the drill holes and a large portion of anomalous radioactivity was identified in core from these holes. Visual desportization and uranium staining within the core and associated elevated counts of thorium on the MIDI and SkyTEM surveys identified several zones of strong alteration and mineralization. Skyharbour is pleased to report that the drill program intersected significant uranium mineralization in multiple drill holes. Highlight results include 3.5 meters of 0.42% U3O8 and 2.0 meters of 1.38% U3O8.
Skyharbour plans to develop and expand on these positive results from the first drill program. Skyharbour plans to undertake a follow-up winter drill program to expand on its maiden drill program at the Russell Lake project. The targeted winter drill program will consist of between 3,000-5,000 metres focused on expanding and/or delineating the uranium-vanadium mineralization.
The Russell Lake project is situated at the southern edge of Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin, an area known to host some of the highest-grade uranium deposits in the world. Many of the operators located in the Athabasca Basin are amongst the world’s largest and most profitable uranium producing companies. The Russell Lake project is located along the Trans-Athabasca Highway and the Power Corporation grid line, which provides Skyharbour the potential to benefit from the strong uranium mining infrastructure in northern Saskatchewan. Federal and Provincial road allowances converge at the east side of the property and provide favorable access throughout the year.
Skyharbour is led by a highly-credentialed technical team with a successful track record of creating shareholder value by discovering gold, cobalt, and uranium deposits in the Athabasca Basin. The Russell Lake project is adding a number of prospective uranium projects to Skyharbour’s portfolio and positioning Skyharbour as a leader in uranium exploration and development in the Athabasca Basin.
