Beyond Lithium, a Canadian-based exploration company, has announced its most promising results yet from the Victory project located near Payne Lake in Newfoundland. From grab samples taken from two of its spodumene pegmatites, Last Resort and Bounty Gold, Beyond Lithium has observed up to 5.11% Li2O in the former, and up to 3.48% Li2O in the latter.
The Victory project is of particular interest for exploration because of its favourable geology and prior occurrences of spodumene pegmatites which can contain significant lithium resources. The property is located in the proximity of two operational mines of Avalon and Malcolm’s Lake, and is very well-traversed for its geological survey.
Beyond Lithium has worked hard to identify and map out these spodumene pegmatites, hence the positive results obtained from the grab samples. How the project develops over the near future and how the findings of the samples may shape the landscape for future discoveries remains to be seen and will be keenly watched by the mineral exploration industry.
The encouraging results from the Last Resort and Bondy Gold grab samples attest to the potential of the property and in a way should help Beyond Lithium and its collaborators to identify the highest potential drill targets in the project for further evaluation. The Li2O results from other grab samples are expected to be released in due course, which will help to give a better understanding of the potential of the project.
Benefitting from the infrastructure and expertise of Avalon and Malcolm’s Lake, this lithium project could well become a major source of this non-renewable resource in the future. Thus Beyond Lithium’s current results are indications of great things to come.
